Learning through play is a term used in education to describe how a child can learn to make sense of the world around them.

Through play, children develop social and cognitive skills, become more emotionally aware by interacting with others and gain more self-confidence by engaging in new activities with new people.

Our school play equipment range has everything you need to create a fun and stimulating learning environment for early years and foundation stage children.

Play is one of the main ways children learn, and because playtime is fun, children often become focused on the task at hand which goes a long way to them developing the ability to concentrate.

Different Types of Play

Imaginative play has long been a fundamental part of early years learning. Centering around vocalisation and socialising, imagnitive play is great for making new friends whilst learning to communicate.

Childrens Role Play Panels Professions Set

Whether they pretend to do their weekly shop or be a nurse bandaging a knee at the doctor’s, imaginary play allows children to act out scenes they more than likely have seen in real life.

Not only does this type of play practise communication and language skills but it allows children to practice the fine art of listening, and taking turns.

Our home corner features a wide range of wooden play kitchens which are ideal for children’s role play activities, whilst the children’s mobile market stall is perfect for acting out shop scenarios between a shop keeper and customer.

Our imaginative play section features a wide range of role play panels which have a different design. Each panel comes with a fixing bracket which allows you to easily and simply attach it to another panel of your choice.

Also available are our pre-selected role play panel kits.

The only real restriction with our role play panels is the child’s imagination.

Creative Play

Creative play gives little ones the opportunity to express their emotions in a fun and engaging way.

A child’s creativity can be expressed in many forms, such as singing, dancing, acting, drawing and painting.

We offer a wide selection of children’s easels and art easels to help bring out their artistic side and promote creativity.

Our table top theatre and folding theatre are perfect for creative role play, whilst our four sided easel is great for promoting group creativity.

Physical Play

Physical play is an essential form of play for young children.

Zoomster

Encouraging physical activity from an early age is more likely to encourage children to lead healthier and more active lifestyles in the future.

The benefits of physical activity include the development of key motor skills, improving hand-eye coordination and refining social and cognitive skills.

Children who stay active enjoy long term health benefits, as well as improved mental health.

We offer a wide selection of play equipment designed for physical play with early years’ children.

Whether children want to play on the toddler activity centre, race around on the multi-award winning Zoomster, or build an indoor den there is something to suit all children.

Alternatively, children can have an underwater adventure with the Seaweenies.
