Easter Break Activities

With the Easter holidays on the horizon it’s time to start thinking of things you can organise to keep the children busy.

Don’t let the weather put you off, there are plenty of indoor and outdoor activities that can keep the whole family entertained.

We have come up with ten fun activities both indoor and outdoor that will be fun for the whole family.

  • Get crafty this Easter – it may sound messy but it will be a lot of fun. Make your own Easter bunny mask with Early Learning Furniture. We have a simple step by step guide on how to make your very own Easter Bunny mask.  It’s simple yet very effective and the children will love it.

  • Design your own Easter egg – download our free colouring in pack and let the little ones colour their own Easter egg. Also included is an Easter themed nursery rhyme to get you in the Easter spirit.
Indoor Outdoor Folding Den
  • Build an indoor fort or den – Blankets or quilts draped over furniture will do for younger ones. Older children may want to convert a cupboard or entire room. We offer an indoor outdoor folding den with three different kits to allow for camouflage – perfect for some indoor hiding fun.
  • Egg painting – all you need is some paint and a box of hard boiled eggs. Let children create.masterpieces by painting faces or designs on to the eggs. It’s easy to do and will keep them busy for hours. Be sure to cover your kitchen table though as things could get messy!

  • Get cooking – there are plenty of things to cook and kids love the chance of getting in the kitchen. Teach them how to make their very own hot cross buns or melt some chocolate and make some chocolate rice crispy cakes – an all-time favourite of any child.
  • Easter egg hunt – create your very own Easter egg hunt in your back garden to keep the little ones busy. Simply hide mini eggs all around your garden for your children to find, it’s a good idea to have a prize for the one who finds the most Easter eggs. If the weather is bad or you don’t have a garden, then do an Easter egg hunt indoors. Alternatively there are often local Easter egg hunts that allow you to join in, keep your eyes out for any local Easter events near to you.
Easter Eggs
  • Feed the ducks – it’s simple but children love this. It allows your children to burn off some energy along the way. Everyone can enjoy a long walk and feed the ducks – don’t forget the bread!
Gardening
  • Do some gardening – this is a great time to prepare your garden for summer. Let children help pull weeds and have a general tidy up. Spring time is perfect for planting bulbs that will grow in time for summer. You can even start your own vegetable patch and plant some veggies that the kids love to eat. This will also help and encourage them to eat the vegetables they have grown and nurtured.
  • Visit a local farm – this time of the year farms are usually teaming with baby animals. A day out at the farm always goes down well. Some farms even allow you to interact with the baby animal during feeding time. Research online to find out what your local farm has going on over Easter.

  • Teddy bears picnic – have your own teddy bear picnic and allow your child and their friends to choose their favourite toys and teddies for it. It can be in your back garden or at the local park. It may be fun to let the children help make the picnic and choose the food. Don’t worry if it starts raining – you can always have a picnic on the living room floor if the weather fails you at the last minute.

We hope our Easter break activity suggestions help you to plan out an enjoyable and memorable time for everyone.

We would love to see pictures of your Easter activities on our Twitter or Facebook pages, post them and we will share them!
